How to spend weekends right

Updated: Mar 19, 2025

Dear Strangers,

In my first blog post, I want to talk to you about how the way we spend our weekends is mostly wrong, in my opinion.

Starbucks date on the weekend with a view.

How do you usually spend Saturdays?

I used to spend mine by firstly sleeping more because the week would wear me out. I would spend all Friday evenings watching movies, sleeping and eating. I would usually order myself a pizza or something equally unhealthy and feel bad after eating all of the food.

Even if my friends would invite me out, I would refuse it most of the time, never organize anything myself and just allow myself to fall into the heaviness of life.

But, let's be honest. Everyone's life is difficult. It wasn't just mine. During that period in my life, I was working for two people at least and was very unsatisfied with the small town I lived in.

Of course I knew it all needed to change. Of course I was unhappy about my laziness. The will to wake up and allow excitement into my life was strange to me.

When I left the company I was working for and left the city I lived in my life improved. In that moment, bigger city brought bigger opportunities into my life. It woke up my wish to go outside and enjoy my Saturdays. Something was finally working.

You know how they say use your weekends to build the life you want, not run away from your current life. That is so true. The person who said that is absolutely correct!

Now I think and act in a way that shows how important Saturdays and Sundays are to me. I organize myself weekends very well. Now, don't understand this as I plan myself each minute of my weekend, it's not like that. I just put even more effort than I would with any other day of the week because I am finally starting to realize that I deserve to live a very beautiful life.

I use Saturday to work on my dreams, to take care of myself (running, dentist appointments, nail appointments, working on my company, spending time with family and friends etc..), and once in a while I go to museums, gallery exhibitions and concerts. I use Sundays to firstly go to church service, then, have a little breakfast date in Starbucks, and after that, spend time with people I love.

Saturday and Sunday have become two days that I use to live life how I would want to live, if money didn't matter. Or at least, I give it a very good try.

If you would love to see how that all goes, I recommend you watch one of the vlogs about it on my Instagram. I hope it inspires you to wake up. I hope you really enjoy your weekends.

Yours,

Violeta
