2025 Book Club & How to start reading books regularly

Updated: Mar 23

I will never forget the first book I read. It was "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri.

A girl in a bookshop looking for a new book for Book Club

I read it on a summer holiday that I was spending with my parents at our grandma and grandpa's village. And if you have read the book then you know that that is exactly what the book is about - a girl spending holiday at her grandpa's village. I was so moved by the book and the whole storyline.

Each time I see a child now reading something, I strike up a conversation and recommend this book.

After that book I have read so many more, especially through my teenage years and high school. I changed many genres as well, as I was developing as a person.

Now I prefer classics and books about business, sales, marketing and self-development.

This year, I want to share this love for reading and books with you. Each month, I will choose a book I think we're all going to enjoy and share it on the Book Club Page.

After reading at, we can share what it made you feel and did you actually like it or not with me.

You can write in the comments of the blog post I post about the book or on my Instagram in the comments.

I will try to give my best recommendations.

What if you're a person who always wanted to start reading books but kept failing at that?

In this digital era, it might be difficult to choose reading instead of scrolling, I understand.

I have periods in my life too when instead reaching for a book, I reach for Instagram, it's normal.

There are two ways in which you can start reading books regularly.

Firstly, you can carry a book in your bag. You will have moments in your day when you will be in any kind of a line, waiting for this or that. So why not read in that moment? I have friends who take the train to work for example. That's a perfect opportunity to read. The best decision I made in the recent years was carrying a book in my bag, just like I carry a lipstick.

The second thing you can do is put it on your nightside table and read a few pages before you fall asleep. You know how they always say that you shouldn't be looking at your phone before you fall asleep because that blue light is really bad for you, here is a way to change it.

In order to quit a bad habit, you need to replace it. It won't just magically disappear. Why not replace that habit with reading a good book.

You would be solving two problems at once.

I hope you like the books I recommend and really enjoy in them.

I hope the reading habit you create this year turns into the best one of 2025.

I hope you allow the books to open your mind to possibilities and change you.

The first book we will be reading is called "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. I have been wanting to read this book for a long while not, but kept skipping it.

The time has finally come.

You can find more information about our first book on my Book Club Page.

Happy reading!

Welcome to 2025 Book Club with Viola.
